Anglosol 70 is a high-performance, two-component acrylic adhesive specifically designed for bonding cast acrylic sheets. With its unique polymerisation process, this adhesive provides a strong, durable bond suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, such as sign making and other exterior uses.

Key Features:

  • Two-Part System: Combines Part A (acrylic polymer in monomer) and Part B (liquid catalyst) for a powerful bond.
  • Exterior Use: Ideal for outdoor applications such as sign fabrication.
  • Strong Bonding Strength: Provides joint strengths of 30-40 MPa when cold cured and up to 50 MPa with heat treatment.
  • Room Temperature Cure: Hardens at room temperature, with a faster cure option available when heat-treated.
  • Colour: Part A has a slight purple tinge, and Part B is straw-coloured. The bond may slightly yellow after prolonged exposure in warm climates but does not affect the bond strength.

Properties:

  • Viscosity: Part A: 1,500 mPa.s; Part B: Liquid
  • Shelf Life: 12 months for both components when stored at 5-25°C
  • Coverage: 1 m²/L
  • Setting Time: Initial hardening within 1.5 to 2 hours; full cure takes 24 hours at room temperature.
  • Heat Cure Option: For enhanced bond strength, heat the joint for 3-4 hours at 80°C after an initial 2-hour set.

Applications & Functions:

  • Cast Acrylic Bonding: Optimised for bonding cast acrylic sheets, such as Perspex. It is not recommended for extruded acrylic unless annealed beforehand to prevent crazing.
  • Outdoor Signage: Ideal for sign-making and other outdoor bonding needs, providing durability and weather resistance.
  • General Fabrication: Suitable for fabricating acrylic parts in various industries, offering flexibility in different applications.

Important Considerations:

  • Surface Preparation: For extruded acrylic, annealing may be required to avoid crazing.
  • Gap Filling: Low viscosity adhesive; not recommended for large gaps due to shrinkage during curing.
